Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program
Purpose of the Program
The Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program aims to train qualified technical personnel who can work in the field of animal health and veterinary services, possessing the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge. The program provides education on the healthy rearing of animals, supporting the diagnosis and treatment processes of diseases, developing animal production techniques, and conducting laboratory analyses.
Students are trained to be able to work in veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, laboratories, and farms; they also gain knowledge and skills in areas such as animal production, vaccine and drug applications, artificial insemination, microbiological and biochemical analyses.
Mission of the Program
The mission of our program is to train laboratory and veterinary health technicians who will meet the qualified personnel needs of the livestock and health sectors by obtaining professional competence within a framework of improved quality processes, developed with stakeholder views, that is auditable and sustainable.
Vision of the Program
Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Burdur Food, Agriculture and Livestock Vocational School Veterinary Department Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program aims to be a leading vocational education and practice center recognized at national and international levels, supporting regional development, with a research and evidence-based education approach, within the framework of the “One Health” principle. The program aims to develop a holistic understanding in public health, animal health, food safety, and agricultural production; contribute to regional and national policy processes with scientific-based practices and research; train innovative, competent, and ethically valued graduates in clinical and laboratory practices; transform knowledge and technology into production through interactive collaborations between the sector, public, and academia; and become a reference educational program that leads society to a healthy and sustainable life.
