Burdur Food, Agriculture and Livestock Vocational School Faculty Members Met with the Sector at the "Future Roadmap in Vocational Schools" Workshop

The workshop titled “Future Roadmap in Vocational Schools – Education, Technology, and Sector Meetings” brought together academia and sector representatives on Wednesday, 25.06.2025, at Lavanta Tepesi Hotel. Faculty members from Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Vocational School of Food, Agriculture, and Livestock also participated in the event, providing evaluations on the future of higher education.
MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar emphasized the need to reassess the place and potential of Vocational Schools within the university system. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated that Vocational Schools play a critical role in training qualified human resources that can directly contribute to the sector, thanks to their practice-based education model. Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Vocational Schools Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ragıp Yıldırım highlighted that this meeting is not just a gathering but also a platform where common wisdom is produced and strategies that shape the future are discussed. Yıldırım noted that under the MAKÜ umbrella, 13 thematic Vocational Schools provide education with approximately 80 associate degree programs and that these structures have undergone significant transformation in recent years.
Yıldırım expressed that programs suitable for the dynamics of the era, such as digitalization, artificial intelligence, and green transformation, have been opened, and they have adopted a quality-focused, innovative, and sector-integrated approach in the field of higher education.
Faculty members of the Vocational School of Food, Agriculture, and Livestock exchanged views on topics such as accreditation processes, collaboration opportunities with the sector, and the dissemination of practical education during the sessions held within the scope of the workshop.
